We all need a little reset sometimes, something small to look forward to when the week gets overwhelming. Here are a few simple things that make my days feel a little softer without adding a cost.
•Fingernail Polish
You don’t have to spend a hundred on a new nail set to get that fresh, put-together feeling. I like to pick a couple new colors at the start of each season and use them up slowly.
•A Cup of Tea
There’s something peaceful in hearing the tea kettle whistle as my favorite blend steeps. I often sit on my porch and spend a few moments sipping and reflecting on the day.
•Texting or Calling my Mom.
No matter how my day is going, talking to her instantly makes it so much better. My mom gets the most mundane updates on my life, and I’m thankful for how easy it is to connect.
•A Long Walk
Living on the outskirts of town means having plenty of back roads and trails to wander. Slowing down and noticing the nature surrounding me leaves me feeling refreshed (even if I come back a little worn out).
You don’t have to spend money, or change your whole routine to feel lighter. All you need is a little moment that sparks some joy.
